In the Wethertex external wall insulation system our award winning resin renders are applied as the protective and decorative finish over external boards of which the Kingspan K5 board is our preferred option.

Kingspan K5 Kooltherm boards are made of a rigid high density phenolic foam core with a tissue facing on both sides and are especially constructed for external use on solid walls or timber frames.

Kingspan K5 is acknowledged as being the best external insulation board from the point of view of thermal performance per mm of depth thereby keeping ancilliary external alterations to a minimum.

We find our clients prefer the Kingspan Kooltherm K5 external board as the slimmer profile depth reduces the degree of adjustments to the likes of down pipes, soil and waste pipes,boiler flues,outside taps and roof tile overhangs.

On a lot of period properties it can also mean that architectural detailing such as tiled or stone cills and headers can be retained and feature brick korbels and dental courses are not covered over.
