The Great British Insulation Scheme 

In September 2023 the Government’s latest insulation scheme started and is being managed by the largest energy companies. It is available for any household where the property is Council Tax Band A- D  with an Energy Performance Certificate rating of D-G and you apply on the gov.uk website. Your energy company will then contact you to discuss what help you can get and arrange surveys and quotes from their partner installers. If you are on certain benefits or have a low income you will likely qualify under a scheme called ECO4.

The Great British Insulation Scheme – GBIS – will in most cases cover the full cost of cavity wall or loft insulation. However when it comes to solid walls there will only be a small partial contribution towards the costs of external wall insulation, Unfortunately the complexity and regulatory/compliance costs of external wall insulation will lead to very few grants being accepted and from our experience it is very likely that the GBIS  customer contribution for external insulation will be higher than we charge to fit it on a private basis! 

So, please apply for the insulation grant and when you have your quote and know your contribution please contact us and we will in virtually every case be able to do the work for less.

How to Apply

You need to go online and register by completing a simple form which will ask you for some basic property details and then the form is forwarded on your behalf to your energy supplier to check what if your property qualifies. There is also a contact phone number if you cannot access the internet.
